Cocoa Beach Family Photo- Shooting between the rain

One thing you will notice about summertime in Florida is that we have afternoon thunderstorms a few times a week. This can be a challenge for those families trying to schedule beach photos. A few things to remember when scheduling a summer session... 1. The best time to shoot is a few hours before sunset. You CAN schedule a morning shoot, but be warned: You have to get up at sunrise, and you only have about 45 minutes until the sun becomes blinding. 2. It is best to schedule your shoot towards the beginning of your vacation in case the weather does not cooperate. 3. It is ok if it is cloudy! Clouds act like a giant soft box providing nice even light. Rain; however, is bad. 4. Just be flexible and we can always shoot between storms. Here are some pictures from my latest session. When we arrived, the rain was just stopping.
